JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview:
Contributes to the production of finished products by painting/assemblying pieces, and components in a sequential process using an array of tools and equipment. The paint line assembler must inspect each section as they are completed to ensure they meet specifications, with an emphasis on accuracy and quality in all products.
This position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
Essential functions:
- Follow all safety and quality standards and procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the table to be used, following the provided checklist.
- Verify the tag and lockout of the machine.
- Understand the quality policy.
- Review work order instructions before each project.
- Confirm the tools and components to be used according to the forming area.
- Ensure the measuring instruments required are in accordance with the work instructions and control plan.
- Verify the work order and the part number to be processed.
- Check the control plan for furnace temperatures (high heat, quench oil, and temper) and verify conveyor speeds. Record these details in the inspection report every hour.
- Inspect the first piece according to the control plan, inspection report, and work instructions.
- Verify one piece every hour and record this in the inspection report, following the control plan.
- If any material is out of specification, observe, analyze, and communicate with the supervisor, and follow the work instructions and control plan.
- Before the end of the shift, stop 10 minutes early to clean the machine and report any natural scrap and defective pieces.
- Complete the scrap form according to the work instructions.
- Deliver the report and work order to the supervisor.
- If there is a second shift, communicate to the next operator what is currently running.
- Load the high-heat furnace according to the work instructions and visual aids.
- Rotate every 45 minutes between the high heat area, forming area, and quenching area.
- In the forming area, place pieces in the former according to work instructions.
- In the quench oil area, take pieces from the conveyor, arrange them, and place them in the tempering furnace
according to work instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior heat treatment experience in a metal manufacturer preferred
Knowledge of hand tools and some manufacturing equipment
Proficient with a variety of manual tools, power tools and tape measures
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent
